40 cases of Delta Plus variant traced in India:- As per the health experts, Delta Plus is said to be the most dangerous variant of coronavirus and it is said to be the recent mutant that is highly transmissible. 40 cases of Delta Plus are traced in the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala for now. Though the situations are not alarming, the states are taking all the precautions and are finding out the origins of how it reached India. On the other side, all the top experts are conducting a detailed analysis on the mutant of Delta Plus. IT is said to be the new mutant of Delta or B.1.617.2 which caused the second wave of coronavirus in India.
Delta Plus is resistant to the monoclonal antibody cocktail treatment for coronavirus. India is one among the ten countries where the Delta Plus variant is traced across the world. The Indian government said that the Delta Plus variant is still a variant of interest and it is not a variant of concern. Apart from India, Delta Plus is traced in the United Kingdom, United States of America, Switzerland, Portugal, Poland, Japan, Nepal, China and Russia. The Indian government is yet to announce if the Delta Plus variant is spread across the other states of the country. There are 21 cases in Maharashtra and the others are found in Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. INSACOG (Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomic Consortia) is busy with genome sequencing of the virus and the properties of the new variant are currently investigated.
