India, China Agree on a Three-Step Disengagement Plan from the Pangong Lake Area:- The ongoing border conflict between India and China turned out to be a hurdle for both the countries and it disrupted the relations between the countries. Both the countries have agreed to disengage from the parts of the Eastern Ladakh sector and they will be moving back to their respective positions where they stood during April and May this year. The discussion has been going on for some time and the disengagement plan was discussed during the 8th Corps Commander-level talks that were held on November 6th in Chushul.

The disengagement plan will be carried out in three steps in the next week. All the tanks, armored vehicles and personnel carriers will move back to a significant distance from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) from both the sides. Naveen Shrivastava, the Joint Secretary of External Affairs Ministry and Brigadier Ghai of Directorate General of Military Operations took part in the talks. The second step will take place near the northern bank of Pangong lake and India, China will withdraw 30 percent of its troops every day for three consecutive days.

The two sides will withdraw from their respective positions in the last step. A joint mechanism to verify the progress in the disengagement process will be carried out. In June this year, 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives in the Galwan clash. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is carrying out the operation and is reporting the updates to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
