Centre Responds About AP Capital Shifting:- After the TDP government announced Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP Government which took charge recently decided to shift the base to Vizag announcing three capitals for the state. Though the move was opposed by the opposition parties and the people of the state, the bill was passed in the state's Assembly. Nityanand Rai, the Minister for State for Home today clarified that the Centre has nothing much to do with the new capital shifting. Nityanand said that the Centre cannot interfere in the issue. TDP MP Galla Jayadev questioned the Centre after the ongoing protests in Amaravati region.
Nityanand Rai said that Chandra Babu Naidu during his time finalized Amaravati as the capital and got it notified with the Centre. As per the records of the Centre, Amaravati is the current capital of Andhra Pradesh said, Nityanand Rai. The change of capital is completely the state's decision and the AP Government should get the three capitals notified with the Centre after taking the final call.
