Mixed Reactions For Rahul's Wayanad Move:- The Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked Congress after the party announced that their Chief Rahul Gandhi will contest from Wayanad constituency in Kerala along with Amethi in Uttar Pradesh which he generally contests from. CPI accused that Congress is in plans to weaken Left and its allies. BJP said that Gandhi escaped to Kerala. Earlier, Congress candidate MI Shanawas won Wayanad Lok Sabha with a record majority in 2009 and 2014 polls.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that Congress is not bothered about BJP and he feels that Communists are their real fighters. Vijayan also said that they are not in a mood to withdraw their candidate from Wayanad. Rahul Gandhi should have contested from Karnataka said Vijayan. CPI (M) politburo member Prakash Karat said that Congress directly wanted to fight with Left in Kerala after which Rahul Gandhi proceeded with the move. BJP Chief Amit Shah said that Rahul Gandhi is not confident on retaining Amethi seat and hence he is in second thought.
