Arya Vysya Unions Demand Ilaiah’s Arrest:- The demand for the arrest of controversial author Kanche Ilaiah was reiterated by the Arya Vysya community on Sunday. They also sought an unconditional apology from the writer. Several Vysya Unions assembled in Guntur on Sunday and announced their future plan of action against the book.

One among them is “Chalo Kakinada” on October 11. The support for the programme was extended the Vysya community leaders. The programme was initiated by Sivaswamy of Viswadharma Parirakshana Vedika. The governments of the two Telugu States had failed to contain the Ilaiah’s book and his inciting remarks, said A Anjaneyulu, Chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Guntur unit.

In the agitation of Arya Vysyas, no political party was involved and it is unwarranted to bring political affiliation, added Mr. Anjaneyulu. He further criticized that the Chief Ministers of two Telugu States are playing to the galleries by claiming that they have a word with the respective DGPs. He further pointed out that the police sleuths are employees of the government and if their political bosses are unwilling to arrest Prof Ilaiah, then they are helpless.

The professor who claimed to be an learned man forgot the services of the great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Potti Sriramulu, said Gaurishanker, urban president of Arya Vysya Sangham. Prof Ilaiah was again invited by Gaurishanker for a debate in the issue in Guntur. He said that he must attend the round-table conference without hesitation, if the author is really committed to his writings.
