Max Speed Limit On ORR Slashed to 100 Kmph:- From 120 kmph to 100 kmph, the maximum speed limit on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) has been slashed.

The revised speed limits have been announced by Cyberabad Commissioner Sandeep Shandilya yesterday. He said that the speed revision, which was already in effect from May 23, was due to the recent number of the accidents on the ORR. ]

On Lane 1, which is the closest to the median, and Lane 2, the maximum speed allowed will be 100 kmph and minimum speed will be 80 kmph. The maximum speed on Lane 3 and Lane 4 will be 80 kmph, while the minimum speed will be 40 kmph.

Shandilya said, “No vehicle is permitted to travel below this speed.”

The fast moving vehicles should move on the Right Lanes (Lane 1 and 2) and slow moving vehicles should move on the Left lanes (Lane 3 and 4) within the speed ranges given above. While, the heavy vehicles should move on Lane 3 or Lane 4 only. All the vehicles which change their speed shall have to observe lane discipline, and go to the lane having the speed range concerned. There would be no permission for zigzag movement between the lanes.

The vehicles wanting to change lanes as per the above speeds should do so only after using indicators and all precautions should be taken while changing lanes, said Shandilya.

Furthermore, no vehicle would be permitted to stop on any of the four lanes of the ORR and no passenger vehicles should stop on the ORR to pick up passengers.
