TDP Wins In Majority Places Over YSRCP In Municipal By-Elections; YSRCP Wins Only In Mangalagiri

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has again shown its strength in the successor state of Andhra Pradesh as the party achieved a thumping victory in the recently held by-elections for various wards in the municipalities.
The TDP in the by-elections, have won in the majority of the places, over the YSR Congress Party. The 19th ward in Gudivada Municipality of Krishna district, was won by the TDP candidate with over 150 votes, Nanduri Venkata Prasad, over rival YSRCP candidate. The Gudivada Assembly constituency, is represented by YSRCP MLA Kodali Nani. Both the TDP and YSRCP have taken the seat as prestige.
Following the sudden demise of the YSRCP ward member, the by-elections were held. YSRCP tried its best to retain its seat, but however, TDP won and gave a shock to YSRCP.
A similar situation has arisen in Chandrababu Naidu's own district, Chittoor. Both the parties have taken it as crucial. The TDP has shown its dominance. In the 38th division, the TDP candidate, Vasanth Kumar, won over YSRCP candidate with a 1508 majority of votes.
TDP candidate Madan Mohan won with a majority of 371 votes, in Palamaneru, 23rd ward if Chittoor. The 16th ward of Yalamanchali Municipality, was won by TDP’s Vanam Geetha Grace. The TDP’s Ankarao, has won over YSRCP candidate, in the 15th ward of Macharla, and independent candidate Ravi Kumar has won in the 16th ward.
TDP, which has a good foothold in East Godavari district, has once again proved its power in the district. TDP has won all the three municipal wards in the district. TDP candidate Santha won with a majority of 939 votes, in the Hindupur constituency of Anantapur district. The constituency is represented by Nandamuri Balakrishna, actor and brother-in-law of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
TDP candidate won the 4th ward, in Diwakar Reddy’s Tadipatri. TDP candidate Nabi Rasool won in the second ward with a majority of 399 votes, in Atmakur of Kurnool district.
However, in a shock to the ruling TDP, the YSRCP candidate, Ramanayya, has won in the 31st ward of Mangalagiri Municipality. The YSRCP has won only in this municipality, and nowhere else.
