The National Investigation Agency has recently arrested three Al-Qaeda suspects, including a TCS employee, were allegedly planning to eliminate 22 top leaders of the country including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Reports said that they were also involved in threatening the officials of embassies of India in various countries.
The names of the three suspects are Kareem Raja, Asif Sultan and Abbas Ali. Reports said that Kareem was arrested from Usmannagar, Asif Sultan from G R Nagar as well as Abbas Ali from Ismailpur of Madurai. Officials added that explosive materials were also recovered from the suspects.
Police added that the NIA raided several places upon information of few Al-Qaeda operatives are handling from south region of Tamil Nadu and around Madurai. Refusing to elaborate much, police said, “Explosive materials as well as arms have been seized from the suspects.”
Police also said that the suspects were involved in running an Al-Qaeda unit in South Tamil Nadu and were also involved in various blasts that took place in courts in recent past. NIA are further questioning the suspects in Madurai and searching for two more leaders namely, Hakeem and Dawood Sulaiman, who is also reportedly working for TCS.
The families of the arrested suspects have claimed innocence and has thrashed all the charges, reports said.
