Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the country through the 23rd installment of his monthly special–Mann Ki Baat. Aired on All India Radio, the programme is being broadcast in several languages to reach people all across the country. The tech-savvy Prime Minister had asked Indians to suggest the topics that they would like to be covered on the 23rd edition of Mann Ki Baat on the Narendra Modi App and MyGov Open Forum.
Suggestions received from the public include plans for Tokyo 2020 Olympics, border issues, religion and educational reforms. The Prime Minister spoke on a range of issues in the course of his 35-minute address, including relations with Pakistan, the canonization of Mother Teresa, GST, Swachch Bharat, gas subsidy, floods, teacher-student relationships and sports in the context of India’s performance at the Rio Olympics.
Modi said that we are proud of our daughter who had won the medal in the Rio Olympic. They proved once again that they are not less than anyone. He mentioned about the gymnast Dipa Karmakar and said that she did a great job and stood at 4th position.
PM Modi talked about the upcoming Teacher’s day on 5th September and said that 5th September is not only Teachers Day but a day of learning as well. Teachers are as important as mothers in our lives. Teachers spend their lives caring for their students.
Modi said about the ongoing violence in Kashmir valley. PM said that, I interacted with all the delegation which are related to kashmir. We have all the same opinion on the kashmir issue - Ekta aur Mamta (Unity and affection). He warned, people who are putting innocent young boys in the front to disrupt peace in Kashmir valley, one day they will have to answer to these boys. Any life lost in Kashmir, whether of a security personnel or a youth, is a loss for us as a nation.
He said, “This country is very big, full of diversities. To keep it united, it is the responsibility of all of us, as individual citizens, as a society and as a government, to strengthen our unity as much as we can, highlight it as much as we can. Only then can the nation achieve its bright future. I have confidence in the power of 125 crore people of the country.”
