After the super success of Ayutha Maha Chandi Yagam, that completed yesterday, Telangana Chief Minister KCR vows to perform Prayuta Maha Chandi Yagam in the future.
Chandi Yagam which was performed on a large scale for five days, spending crores of rupees, attracted lakhs of devotees across the state. On the last day, the fire burnt a part of the Yagashala, worried the people around, but the pandits considered that, as the positive sign.
Obeying the invitation of KCR, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu attended the event at 10.30 am, accompanied by Union Minister Sujana Choudhary and his cabinet colleagues. Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and priests accorded a warm welcome to the guests with ‘Purnakumbham.’
Following the dress code - Yellow clothes, Naidu met KCR and later, the duo went to various parts of Yagashala and KCR explained about the way, the Yagam was being performed.
The yagam continued till 5 pm and came to an end with Purnahuthi. KCR even felicitated the priests who led the yagam.
Speaking to the media, KCR said, “I am set on two missions, Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya. I want the blessings of Goddess Chandi as ‘yagaphalam’. I am also on the task of constructing projects by earmarking `25,000 crore yearly and if that materializes, I will perform Prayuta Chandi Yagam.”
The fire mishap took place around 1.10 pm, after most of the ritviks had left the yagashala for lunch.
However, the concerned officials intervened and brought the flames under control.
Meanwhile, the choppers carrying President Pranab Mukherjee reached Erravelli and made a couple of rounds in the air. But the sources said that, there was no clearance, due to the fire accident and so the helicopter had to return to Hyderabad, without landing at Erravelli.
