In a horrifying accident at Ramannapeta in Nalgonda district, 18 people are killed and 15 others injured severely.
Yesterday evening, Narketpally depot Telangana State RTC bus was traveling to Nalgonda from Bhongir and meanwhile, a lorry coming from the opposite direction hit the bus. The one side of the bus was completely destroyed and even bus driver is a part of the 18 deaths caused due to the accident.
As the lorry hit the right side of the bus very heavily, the passengers sitting on the right wing of the bus, are shot to death on the spot.
All the injured people were taken to the hospital immediately after the incident. As the injuries are found to be severe, a few of them lost their lives while shifting to the hospital and others while taking the treatment. The officials are estimating that, the death count may further increase, as the injuries are very severe.
Telangana Chief Minister KCR expressed his condolences to the families of the death victims and assured all kinds of government support to the families.
Speaking on the issue, Nalgonda Superintendent of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal said, “The injured were rushed to Bhongir, Rammannapet and Kamineni Hospitals. The officials had sent a medical team to Rammannapet Hospital from Government General Hospital, Nalgonda to provide better treatment.”
Along with KCR, other government officials like Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy, Transport Minister P. Mahendar Reddy and Telangana Energy Minister G. Jagadishwar Reddy arrived at the spot. The Ministers said that the Government would order a probe into the incident and find out the reasons behind the tragedy and sort out the proper justice to the injured and the death victims.
Be it due to over speed and urgency or the negligence of the two people, a number of innocent lives are unnecessarily lost. More than urgency, it is life which is more important. When the passengers are spending so much of money and travelling in the bus, believing in the driver, he should be responsible and alert at every second. Hope the drivers be alert and avoid such road accidents in the future.
