Yes the election commission sent notices to 58.91 lakh voters in the dual Telugu states, as their existence is not found in the places specified in the address mentioned while applying for voter card.
The people who do not possess own houses, it is very common to specify their relatives own house address, while filling an application, as the rent houses do not guarantee the permanent stay. But this issue was identified by the election commission and is not in a position to spare the other addresses specified on the application form.
According to them, the voters have to specify the same address, where they are actually residing. Regarding this, election commission has now sent notices to 58.91 lakh voters in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, who are found absent in the addresses they specified. Out of the specified number, 30,52,155 people belongs to AP and 28,39,045 belong to Telangana.

Reacting on the issue, Chief Election Officer Bhanwarlal said, “People who received notices have to file an application to replace their current address with the old address within 2 weeks, else their Voter ID cards will be scrapped".

“Voters with new address in the same constituency should use Form 8 and voters with current address in a different constituency should use Form 6, the people who applied for Corrections/New Cards will receive new Voter ID in a month,” EC specified.
