AP CM Meets Modi, Seeks Probe Into Phone Tapping

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had a meeting with Prime Minister Modi, where the former had explained of, how exactly TDP was framed in the note-for-vote scandal and how his phone was tapped and how his voice was fabricated.

Urge to issue guidelines on Section 8

Naidu met Modi in Delhi, a day after his government decided to urge the Centre to issue guidelines on section 8 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act that, confers special powers on the Governor, in charge of both the states, with regard to law and order in Hyderabad, as it is presently the common capital of both the Telugu states.

Naidu, whose Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is a partner in the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, also met Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu, Finance Minister Arun Jaitely and BJP president Amit Shah.

Speaking to the media, Naidu said that, he sought a detailed probe into the phone-tapping as it was a serious issue and also demanded that, the Centre confiscate illegal equipment being used for tapping and make servers safe. Naidu expressed his hope on the center, to intervene in the issue and take an action against TRS government.

KCR strong reason to argue with the center

On the other side, the TRS government seems, least concerned about the complaint made to the center. Though the phone tapping of a Chief Minister would obviously invite many allegations, if KCR explains the reason behind the tapping, is to showcase the illegal activities done by Naidu, then it the center would get convinced. In fact, the TDP leader, Revanth Reddy’s scam would make the KCR’s argument stronger.
