Islamabad has called external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj's call for creating violence-free environment for talks as ironical and blamed India for ceasefire violations, rights abuses in Jammu & Kashmir and subversive activities in Pakistan. Pakistan is a rogue country which has a dubious nature of crying as a victim of terrorism and its Army and ISI train, support and host terrorists.
"When India keeps violating ceasefire along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary, indulges in worst human rights violations against helpless Kashmiris and undertakes subversive activities in Pakistan, then asking Pakistan to create an environment free of violence only sounds ironical," Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's foreign affairs and national security advisor, Sartaj Aziz, told. Pakistan is preparing to hold elections in Gilgit-Baltistan in J&K, which India has described as an attempt by Pakistan to "camouflage its forcible and illegal occupation of the regions''. India has reiterated its territorial right over the Gilgit-Baltistan region, “Our position is well known. The entire J&K, including the regions of Gilgit and Baltistan, is an integral part of India,” spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Vikas Swarup said. "We are concerned at the continued efforts by Pakistan to deny the people of the region their political rights, and the efforts being made to absorb these territories,'' he added.
"The fact that a Federal minister of Pakistan is also the "Governor of Gilgit Baltistan" speaks for itself. Unfortunately, in recent times the people of the region have also become victims of sectarian conflict, terrorism and extreme economic hardship due to Pakistan's occupational policies," added the official. Pakistan should invariably get out of the region and allow the people of PoK to exercise their will to be an integral part of Hindustan.
“For the first time, India has objected the issue of Gilgit - Baltistan in a firm way. According to Pakistan, Gilgit-Baltistan was a settled issue. India has rejected this move of Pakistan. Pakistan is trying to be clever by holding elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, even though the assembly does not have municipal power. India is absolutely right to protest,” Defense expert Sushant Sareen told.
