The Osmania university students protested against Telangana Chief Minister KCR for his proposal for construction of houses in the campus area.

It was known that, KCR made a proposal to construct apartments to the poor living in slums in the Parsigutta area in 11 acres land belonging to the university. On Monday evening, the university students who are against this proposal, made a flash protest from Osmania University at C-Block in Telangana Secretariat. However, the Chief Minister is not present in his office  when the students made the protest.

The students raised the slogans against the Chief Minister - “CM down, down”. The police who were shocked by the sudden movement of the students reacted instantly and prevented them from forcing their way into C-Block. When the situation turned turned much worse, the police had to arrest the students and bundled them into police vans with a lot of strain. 

The students participated in the protest belonged to 'National Students Union of India' (NSUI) led by Kailash. Other than students, there are many others who gathered there in huge numbers when the slogans have become louder.

Do not touch our lands- OU students

Mr. Kailash said that the students are not going to allow the university lands to construct the houses. When there are other lands available in the city, we don't understand why the government is planning to take OU lands, they questioned. We had already shrunk to a large extent due to encroachments and allotment to other State and Central Government institutions.

No job notifications till now!

It is known that the university students played a very important role in the formation of Telangana state. But all the university students are very much disappointed with the government, as there had been no job notification issued so far, Kailash added.

The government should take back the decision or else the university students would launch an agitation on a large-scale, he finally warned to be the representative of the university students.
