Amit Shah - RSS meet in Nagpur - Truce?

Ahead of the crucial three-day Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha meeting of the RSS, scheduled to begin from March 13 in Nagpur, BJP president Amit Shah met Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat and other key leaders in Nagpur. BJP president Amit Shah had a marathon meeting with the RSS brass in Nagpur. He met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi at the Sangh headquarters in Mahal area lasted for over 8 hours.

The meeting came in the wake of PDP-BJP alliance in Jammu and Kashmir after the controversial statements by CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed thanking Pakistan and terrorists for the peaceful polls and PDP demanding return of Afzal Guru's remains. After Sayeed's statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was forced by the opposition to clarify in Parliament that the Union government did not endorse his view. RSS sources said the common minimum program (CMP) of PDP-BJP alliance, Sayeed's controversial statement, position on Article 370 and the land bill were discussed at the meeting. Bhagwat reportedly told Shah that while amending the present land acquisition law, the government should try to overcome its "pro-corporate" image and ensure the interests of farmers.

The meeting is significant as the RSS' Pratinidhi Sabha, its highest decision-making body, is all set to meet in Nagpur in the third week of March.
