Suspense continues in J&K

Jammu & Kashmir Governor NN Vohra has invited the first largest party, People's Democratic Party [PDP] and second largest party, BJP to form government in the state. Governor has written separate letters to both the party, asking them to come forward in government formation in the state and this is leading to change in stances of the political parties who were once rivals. In the just concluded elections, PDP won 28 seats while BJP got 25 seats.

Though two prominent leaders in PDP are in favour of alliance with BJP, one section within the party is strongly opposing it as they fear, the alliance might have serious implications on the party. PDP's Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will be flying to Delhi today and will hold discussions with top leaders of BJP. Sources say that Mufti could also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and have a word about alliance.

Also senior leader and former deputy chief Minster Muzaffar Hussain Beig is pressurizing the PDP leadership to go for alliance with BJP.  Beig has already hold talks with BJP general secretary Ram Madhav and is trying his best. But the insiders say that Beig will get a central cabinet berth in Modi's cabinet if he is successful in bringing PDP-BJP to one platform.

But the survival of the alliance for a full term will be a huge task. Kashmir is always a burning issue and if BJP government should consult J&K government before taking any kind of decision.
