As the Rajya Sabha seats were shared between in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states, the current MPs representing the Upper House got misplaced in the lottery method. The Telangana MPs were alloted to Andhra state while Seemandhra MPs were alloted to Telangana region.
As per the lottery method, Telangana will now have seven Rajya Sabha seats and Andhra Pradesh will get eleven.

The Eleventh Rajya Sabha seat of Andhra Pradesh got vacated as former AP CM N Janardhan Reddy who expired earlier this month. The elections are likely to be held soon for this seat.
