Coming to the states, Opinion polls predicted that BJP will win more than 50 seats in Uttar Pradesh and this is going to be the back bone of the BJP - NDA government. In Bihar, BJP is expected to give tough competition to the JD[U] while in Maharashtra which has 48 Lok Sabha, BJP will get more than 30 seats. In New Delhi, BJP is expected to white wash but few polls predicted that AAP will get two seats.
However, BJP is going to get mixed results down the South. In Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha lead AIADMK will get 31 seats out of 39 and in Karnataka BJP might get 14 seats.
Coming to Telangana, CNN-IBN predicted that BJP and its ally TDP might get 2 to 4 seats while in Seemandhra both the parties may get 11 to 15 seats. Times NOW predicted that in Telangana TRS will get 9 seats and in Seemandhra BJP and TDP will get 17 seats.
Overall, the performance of BJP is strong in North India nonetheless it is not cake walk for BJP in South.
