The main opposition party BJP has objected against the Prime Minister choice of Lokpal Panel that will select the national anti-corruption ombudsman. The government has proposed the name of senior Supreme Court lawyer Pavani Parameswara Rao (PP Rao) as its choice for the new Lokpal however, BJP refused this proposal and called PP Rao as Congressmen.
Also BJP is getting ready to take its protest to the President of India against PP Rao's proposal. The BJP says that Mr. PP Rao has fought several cases on behalf of the government and is likely to be partisan and BJP leader Sushma Swaraj suggested the names of former attorney general K Parasaran, former solicitor general Harish Salve or even eminent jurist Fali Nariman to the panel. But none were denied a slot.
