The Tamil Nadu Forest Range Officers have shot dead a so called “Man-Eater” tiger which killed nearly three woman in the Doddabetta Forest range near the town of Ooty. According to the reports, the tiger has been around Doddabetta Forest range and also killed several bison. So the Collector and the Forest officials have carried this operation and finally shot dead this tiger.
The Forest authorities have installed 65 camera to trace the tiger in tea estates around the forest and have shut down 45 schools in near by villages. All the people were insisted to stay at their home for precautionary measurements. Just before tiger's death, it killed a bison.
Over the past one month, around 17 people were killed by tigers through out India as per the records and nearly over 80 people were killed in an year in various states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu etc. At present there are 1,700 tiger left in India and this number may rise according to Zoological department estimates.
