Special Cabinet Meet For Telangana on Dec 3

The Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde announced on Friday that the Union Cabinet is going to meet on 3rd December specially for discussing the issue of formation of Telangana State.

Shinde said, ““Various options (on how to create Telangana) will be put forward and the Cabinet will take a final call”.  Although a solution is not found yet for the dispute of Hyderabad, one of suggestions given by the GoM is to give law and order and the revenue has to be given to the Center with the help of special provision in the Constitution.  But the city of Hyderabad will not be suggested by GoM to give it an UT status like that Chandigarh which is the common capital for Punjab and Haryana. The original plan of making Hyderabad a joint capital for 10 years is still maintained.

As one of the main concerns of the Seemandhra people is the protection to their lives and properties, law and order may be given to the Center for 10 years.  And as the revenue sharing is another concern, revenue will be looked after by the Center.
