Power Punch of Samaikyandhra

Sileru Hydro Electric Employees joined Samaikyandhra movement by striking.  A total of 4370 Megawatts of power supply is stopped in the Seemandhra region that made half of the Seemandhra spend in darkness.  The strike was relaxed during the night at some places for the benefit of the general public but again stike was started from 6.00 am.

Tirumala was without power for 6 hours yesterday.  Electricity employees of Vijayawada, Kadapa, Kurnool, NTPC are striking and Sileru and Donkarai employees are joined today.  The impact of it may be on the emergency services also if the intensity continues.

Six districts that face the power problem due to electricity employees' strike are, Chittore, Kadapa, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasham and Nellore.  As villages and towns are without power affecting the normal life, the Chief Minister urged the employees to call off the strike.

Disrupted electricity supply also disrupted the railway movement.  Many trains were stranded yesterday due to lack of power.  Some of them were run by using diesel engines.  Reviewing the situation, the South Central railways cancelled some of the trains.
