Raghuram Rajan is appointed in place of the present Governor of the Reserve Bank of India Duvvuri Subba Rao on 4th September. He is appointed as the Governor of RBI for a tenure of 3 years.
Raghuram Rajan who is an Engineer from IIT Delhi did his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. Then he did his PhD on Banking. Then he worked in Chicago University. He was appointed as Chief Financial Advisor in International Monetary Fund in 2003 and made a record of youngest one to take such a high position. At present he is working as the Financial Advisor for the Government of India.
Raghuram Rajan wrote many articles on the subject of finance which received global appreciation. He wrote “Fault Lines: How Hidden Factors Still Threaten the World Economy” which received the award of “Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year”.
