The congress party announcing the approval of separate statehood to Telangana in CWC also declared that for a period of 10 years Hyderabad will serve as the joint capital for both the States.  

The lives and properties of the persons belonging to Andhra region in the Telangana new State will be protected under a special bill that will be passed in the Parliament.
