The Army Jawan Vinayakam belonged to Chittore District of AP was burnt totally in the helicopter crash when the chopper team is engaged in the rescue operation of the flood victims in the State of Uttarakhand.
As the body was burnt beyond recognition, the army personnel took the DNA sample of his parents to ascertain the identity of Vinayakam.
The ill fated helicopter MI-17 V5 that was deployed for the evacuation and rescue operations in Uttarakhand met with an accident on 25th in which 20 persons died. Vinayakam of the State of AP was one of them.
