Police beat to elicit information

Syed Sameer (17) was picked up from his in laws house in Edi Bazar on Sunday night to take him to ACP's office at Santoshnagar.  He was beaten up there.  Afterwards he was shifted to Santoshnagar Police Station where again he was beaten up with rubber belts and lathis.

All this was to get the information from him about Rasheed who is an accused in a case of attempt for murder.  Sameer was repeatedly asked for the information to trace Rasheed and all the time Sameer said that he was not aware of the place where Rasheed must be.

When Sameer recollected and told police that Rasheed has a sister who lives at Shaheennagar, police took him to the place and on the way he was beaten up again at Chandrayanagutta police station.  Sameer was released on Monday on Rasheed’s surrendering in Bhavaninagar police station with an advice to go to a doctor.

Sameer's mother Noorjahan complains that her son was tortured and the house was ransacked and after all this police want them to keep their mouth shut otherwise they would face consequences.

Bhavaninagar police denies all these charges.  They say that no Sameer was detained or tortured.

But it is a fact that Sameer is wounded and not able to walk properly and getting treated at Princess Esra Hospital near Charminar.
