Employees who are on the verge of retirement need not run from pillar to post applying for Provident Fund refund and other applying for pension through physical forms. The process has now gone online wherein employees will not just have a provision to check the status of their provident funds online but can also apply the PF return by sitting at home via online.

The state accountant general office has designed a special portal for the same. In fact, earlier it used to take over six months to get the provident fund money since it was all done through physical form submissions. Now with the introduction of this electronic system, employees can get the refund of the provident fund and even apply for pension in real time.

After submitting the forms online, an employee can even check the status online. Also, smses would be sent to the mobiles of those people who have applied online. So, it looks like employees will not have all smiles on their faces! A good move for sure!
