Chiranjeevi concerned about foreign tourists

Central minister Chiranjeevi has met the union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and urged him to ensure that protection is provided to the foreign tourists who are visiting our country and staying at hotels. He made this request in the wake of two recent incidents on women tourists. In one case, a Swiss woman was gang raped in Madhya Pradesh and in the second incident a woman tourist who had come to see Taj Mahal jumped off her room window after two persons allegedly tried to assault her sexually.

Chiranjeevi, who usually don't speak unless the magnitude of the problem is high, has lashed out at Madhya Pradesh chief minister Prithviraj Chavan a few days ago over rape on Swiss woman. Now that another such incident took place in Agra, he met Shinde and asked him to take proper steps to ensure foreign tourists' safety.

The sources said that Shinde responded positively and said that government was looking into this issue. Speaking about speculations on UPA's majority, Chiranjeevi reiterated that UPA was not in minority and the government would continue till 2014. All in all, it's really appreciable that Chiranjeevi met home minister and expressed his concern.
