The Central Bureau of Investigation has now turned its focus towards the close associate of late YS Rajashekara Reddy, KVP Ramachandra Rao. In fact, the supreme agency CBI has asked the state government information related to KVP's role during YSR regime. CBI asked this information in connection with illegal assets cases, which it has been looking into upon the directions of the High Court.
So far, CBI sought permission from the government for inquiring many ministers and bureaucrats but never presumably focused on KV Ramachandra Rao. Hence this happens to be the first time wherein CBI has asked information from the government on KVP officially.
May be CBI noticed that KVP was made the cabinet adviser within 10 days after YSR coming to power. Later he became the cabinet minister when YSR was the chief minister. After that he became Rajya Sabha member. Later on, he resigned to RS post since he was not supposed to hold two posts at a same time.
When Congress came to power for the second time too, KVP became adviser and played a key role in the government. Even during Rosaiah's tenure, KVP Ramachandra Rao has become the adviser and took part in most crucial meetings. After Kiran Kumar becoming the chief minister of the state, he said that advisers would not be appointed, which resulted in KVP resigning to his ministry-this is the brief story of KVP in AP politics as per the reports.
Now what CBI reportedly wants is—all details pertaining to KVP's political history in the state and under which rules he was given the key posts in the state. The reports indicated that government was getting ready to furnishing this information to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
If KVP gets grilled by CBI, illegal assets case might take a new turn as some other details might come to light. All in all, it looks like disproportionate assets case is one of the biggest alleged scam that took place in the history of the state.
