It is absurd how far a few corrupt politicians go to get votes and how farther they would go to stop votes being cast in the oppositions favor. One recent incident in Makali village, Channapatna, Ramanagaram district has raised the bar too high. On December 20th one Gram Panchayat member was locked up in a room after being intercepted at the voting booth where she was forced to strip. A relative of the victim claims that it was the candidate's doing to prevent voting for their rival.

She was taken to an house 100m away while they made her strip and challenged her ' Now you can go and vote for anyone you like'. The victim filed a complaint with the police who have started acting upon the case. Police have arrested Shivaraj, Puttaswamy and Satish.
