At many temples in the state, Vaikunta Ekadasi is being celebrated today. In the early hours of Monday, before the sunrise, uttaradwaram has been opened at several temples including the famous Bhadrachalam temple, the abode of Lord Sri Rama (the incarnation of Lord Vishnu). It has been believed that seeking blessings of Lord Sri Rama on Vaikunta Ekadasi is considered not only auspicious but even break the cycle of birth and death.

The devotees, who were waiting to have glimpse of Lord Sri Rama through Vaikuntadwaram were extremely happy after the doors of uttaradwaram were opened this morning in Bhadrachalam. Several VIPs from political front thronged the temple and sought blessings of the Lord. They include the deputy speaker Batti Vikramarka, minister Ram Reddy and Khammam district collector.
