The minister of state for tourism (independent charge), Chiranjeevi has expressed his anguish over diminished interest in cultural dance Kuchipudi. He said he would strive towards uplifting and spreading the value of Indian Art across the globe. Despite having many tourist spots, the lack of proper marketing was affecting the tourism, said Chiranjeevi. Further, he asked leaders to promote tourism putting aside all political agendas.  He even stressed that he would ensure that proper funds are released for promoting state dance Kuchipudi.

It may be noted that Chiranjeevi, who was a megastar in the Indian Cinema,eventually joined politics and became an MP after which he was inducted into the cabinet by the Centre. This act would not just help the Congress party in particular but would boost the tourism sector, said observers. They said Gujarat government made Amitabh Bachchan its brand ambassador to promote Gujarat tourism. Certainly when celebrities are asked to endorse brand, they usually charge the respective brand or department a decent amount.

This is not the case when it comes to Chiranjeevi. Since a person, who is like a brand ambassador, is now the minister of that particular department with independent charge. What else would be required for that department to come into spotlight. Indian tourism will undoubtedly take new turn in next few months...This is for sure! Thanks to Chiranjeevi!
