Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao, who has been supporting statehood for Telangana, has said that it would be impossible to arrive at consensus on Telangana issue.  Talking on Seemandhra people lashing out Telangana leaders, he has questioned as to why Congress leaders remained calm when Congress joined hands with TRS during 2004 elections. He has also said that everyone should stick to the decision of the Centre on Telangana. It may be noted that after December 9, 2009 statement by the Government of India on formation of Telangana issue, certain leaders of the ruling party allegedly tendered their resignation against t he government's decision. Therefore, the government subsequently kept its decision on hold and announced that state would be carved out after arriving at consensus.
