The Salakattu Brahmotsavams at Tirumala have entered the final stage today. The rituals would conclude on the ninth day today. On Wednesday morning chakrasnanam was performed grandly amidst a large number of devotees. Meanwhile, devotees took holy dips in the pushkarini. The Brahmotsavams would conclude by Dwajaawarohama at 7 pm.
It has been considered as a fortune to take part in the Brahmotsavams of Srivaru given that there's a belief that these rituals would be kicked off by Lord Brahma himself. This year Brahmotsavams started a day before Vinayaka Chavithi. On the day one of Brahmotsavams, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy officially presented pattu vastralu (silk threads) to the deity. Elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience.
