The farmer's committee has decided to block the national highways in four districts including Guntur on September 1 in case the government doesn't respond to the problems and demands of the farmers on Krishna delta. The committee, which met today, in Guntur has decided to intensify their movement in order to exert more pressure on the government. The members of the committee have also indicated that they start long-term movements if government doesn't release water for drinking and irrigation purposes.
It may be noted that political parties too were crying foul on Krishna delta issue. Recently TDP leader Devineni Uma demanded the government to act on the issue timely and took on the former chief minister late Y S Rajashekara Reddy over Krishna Delta. Will government respond to the demands of the farmer's committee?
