JP takes on govt

Lok Satta party chief Jaya Prakash Narayana has said that Lokpal Bill should be introduced by the government to put a check to corruption at the all levels. He has also adviced the government to provide education and medical facilities to the poor free of cost. He took on the government and said that government, instead of concentrating on emergency needs of the public, was distributing rice grains (Re.1 per kg). He has also said that although this looked like it was benefiting the public, they didn't get any benefits out of such schemes.

The political observers, who hailed JP for his vision on education and his commitment to end corruption, have however found fault with him for making statements against public schemes such as one kg rice for one rupee. They said bread and butter was the main problem in the society and many people even starve to death due to mal nutrition. Governments offering subsidy on food grains must always be hailed since such schemes are aimed at killing public hunger. They even said that earlier people in the state prayed NTR (former CM) as God since he introduced one kilogram rice for two rupees. So, they said such schemes would undoubtedly benefit the people.
