'No Jagan' at independence day celebrations

YSR Congress party chief was refrained from taking part in the independence day celebrations at Chanchalguda jail yesterday. Prisoners taking part in the celebrations and then receiving sweets is something common at any jail. And Chanchalguda is no exception but it was Jaganmohan Reddy's VIP status, which kept him away from these celebrations.

The jail authorities felt that a large number of ordinary prisoners may try to shake hands with Jaganmohan Reddy in case they see him from a close distance. And to control them might be impossible to the jail authorities. So, they asked Jagan and other VIP prisoners such as Nimmagadda Prasad to keep themselves away from the celebrations.

On the other hand, IAS officer Vijayalakshmi, who is an under-trail prisoner at Chanchalguda jail has witnessed the flag hoisting from a distance.  The sources said YSR Congress leaders were disappointed to know that their leader was not permitted to take part in country's big festival.
