Vijayamma sits for chenetha deeksha

YSRC honorary president and mother of Jagan (prime accused in illegal assets case), YS Vijayamma has sat for chenetha deeksha (a protest in support of hand loom weavers')  at around 2.30 pm in Sircilla of Karimnagar district.  This protest was mainly aimed at awakening the government on the problems being faced by hand look weavers in the state.  The former minister Konda Surekha too sat for the protest along with Vijayamma.

Sircilla town was filled with people who reportedly welcomed her. She was surrounded by hand loom weavers and other villagers. TRS activists, on the other hand, allegedly tried to obstruct the protest of Vijayamma but to no avail. All in all, amid protests, Vijayamma didn't back track on chenetha deeksha, which evoked good response.

The political observers said that this is one of this protest was reportedly one of the major moves to pacify hand loom weavers and rely on their vote bank. They have also said that with this protest, the Congress lost a set of its votes for future. If the same situation continues, Congress would likely to be washed away inch by inch by YSR Congress from Andhra Pradesh, said experts.
