The Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam is being grandly performed at the sanctum sanctorum of Tirumala temple. This ritual is performed annually at the temple on Tuesdays that come before Ugadi, Brahmotsavams, Vaikunta Ekadasi. In Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam, the sanctum sanctorum would be cleaned with the help of a liquid made up of natural perfumes. When this process is underway, the main deity in the sanctum sanctorum would be wrapped with a cloth.

Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam was started at 6 AM. Morning sevas such as Suprabatam, Thomala, Archana and other aghama pujas were perfomed before Tirumanjanam. Along with sanctum sanctorum, the utensils used for puja were also cleaned. The devotees would be allowed to have a glimpse of the deity only after 11 AM today.
