Konda Surekha taken into preventive custody

YSR Congress leader and former minister Konda Surekha was taken into preventive custody by the police in Raghunadhapalli of Warangal district on Monday. She was travelling from Hanamkonda to Hyderabad via Raghunadhapalli.

In the wake of the arrest of YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy, the police in the state are taking almost all YSR Congress top leaders and activists into preventive custody in order to avoid untoward incidents in the state.

The sources said that Konda Surekha wanted to join Jagan’s mother Vijayamma’s dharna at the latter’s residence in Hyderabad. It may be noted that Vijayamma has been staging a protest outside her residence demanding that he son be released.

The police, who arrested Konda Surekha, have sent her to DSP’s office in Jangaon after a lot of argument between Konda Surekha and the police.         (Phani)
