Person arrested for selling fake platinum pieces

A person who allegedly sold fake platinum pieces to several people in Guntur was arrested by the police.  The police had recovered fake platinum pieces of two kgs from him. The 27-year-old accused was identified as Shaik Hassan Ahmed of Narayanapuram village in Guntur district. The police said that Hassan along with an imam of a mosque in Piduguralla thought of deceiving public for overcoming financial problems.

The police have also said that the accused, who admitted to crime, told them that imam gave waste metals to him and wanted him to sell them as platinum pieces that they obtained from people working in customs departments. The police booked cheating case against the accused.  (Phani)
