Green signal to CBI to attach Jagan's properties

Jaganmohan Reddy’s illegal assets case is taking a new turn everyday. The recent government orders asking the Central Bureau of Investigation for prohibiting the sale and transfer of ownership of Jaganmohan Reddy’s properties came in as a shock to many followers of YSR Congress. Also, the political analysts in the state believed that the entire Jangan-CBI episode will cost YSR Congress dearly in the by-polls.

Although GO number 87, 88 and 89 were not made public, they were issued after the chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy gave a clearance. It may be noted that these government orders came in as a response to the Central Bureau of Investigation that sought the permission to attach properties in Jagan assets case.  Notably, CBI is estimating around Rs. 1, 172 crore quid pro investment in Jagati publications. Now that the government orders have been issued, the Central Bureau of Investigation sleuths can file petitions in the district courts to seek permission to attach the properties.

The major developmental news is that the government is apparently in a plan to appoint a noted journalist to oversee the affairs of Sakshi newspaper and news channel.    (Phani)
