Gupta brothers denied bail in cheating case

The fourth additional metropolitan session’s court at Nampally in Hyderabad today dismissed the anticipatory bail petitions of PVR Malls’ owners Gowri Sankar Gupta and Gopal Gupta in the cheating case registered against them for duping the Delhi-based real estate firm DLF.

The court granted conditional anticipatory bail to seven other accused in the case.  Radhesyam Gupta, Manoj Kumar Sarma, Amit Agarwal, Saritha Gupta, Megha Gupta, Mangri Gupta and Komal Agarwal, all family members of the Guptas, were granted anticipatory bail on the condition that they should surrender their passports, sign every Monday and Thursday at the Central Crime Station in Hyderabad and surrender to the court with in ten days. The court asked them to submit two sureties of Rs.50,000 each to the court.

The court rejected the anticipatory bail petitions of Gowri Sankar Gupta and Gopal Gupta observing there is no merit in their bail petitions. The Guptas reportedly cheated the real estate organization DLF to the tune of Rs.300 Cr (J)
