An ancient tunnel was found in the diggings undertaken by the archeological survey department officials in the campus of the Vidyaranya School at Saifabad in Hyderabad.

The archeological survey experts are trying to asses the period of the tunnel and it is presumed the tunnel may be around 400 years old. Some officials said the tunnel might end up at the Science College beside the School Education Directorate behind the secretariat.

Rumours are agog that the tunnel may also contain some ancient treasure hidden by the Nizams who ruled Hyderabad. (JUBS)
