Sarada, doing her second year MBA course at Sai Sudheer College, Kushaiguda hit upon the idea of resorting to thefts and robberies along with her mother Rama Devi to meet the dowry requirement of Rs. 1 lakh to be paid to the bridegroom for solemnizing her marriage on March 8.

The duo of mother and daughter, clad in burqa, entered the house of one Kalpana Friday after noon and tried to snatch away her gold chain by pushing her to the ground. Though overpowered by the two, Kalpana managed to raise an alarm and immediately neighbors came to her rescue. The neighbors caught hold of the duo and handed over to the police.
