The AP high court today adjourned till Friday hearing on the petition filed by IAS officer VS Bhaskar challenging the orders of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Hyderabad asking the central government to transfer him from his present posting.
The tribunal issued the orders on Feb 3 against Bhaskar, deputy director general of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in response to a petition filed by IRS officer and assistant director general of the UIDAI Ms. S. Padmaja alleging sexual harassment by him.
The tribunal passed the orders based on the observations of the Complaints Committee of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and its report which found fault with him.
She said in her petition she has approached the tribunal after several complaints to superior authorities yielded no results to stop the sexual harassment forcing her to go on six months of earned leave.
The tribunal asked the Centre and the UIDAI to transfer him from his present posting with in fifteen days from Feb 3.
Bhaskar had challenged these orders saying that the Complaints Committee of the Unique Identification Authority of India was improperly constituted and its report was biased. “The tribunal can’t pass such orders based on such a biased report,” he argued in his petition.
Bhaskar also pointed out in his petition she had approached the tribunal just to harass him for no fault of his as she had developed a grudge against him presumably on account of work distribution. (JUBS)
