Veteran playback singer of the yesteryears Smt S. Janaki had a slip in her bath room at a hotel this morning and sustained head injuries.
Hotel staff immediately rushed her to the SWIMS hospital in the town where doctors treated her and kept her under observation. “There is no need to worry,” said the doctors, adding she had to undergo seven stitches on her head.
When asked on the need for surgery, the doctors said there was no need for surgery and the singer would recover with normal stitches. “Her BP and sugar are well within limits,” they said.
Janaki, who is in her seventies, is maintaining excellent health and has been actively attending various music programmes in AP on the request of various organizations. She came to Tirupati to participate in a music programme.
She is likely to be discharged later this evening, according doctors. (JUBS)
