Chiru would have become CM if his fans had voting rights in 2009: Kiran

CM Kirankumar reddy said in a lighter vein today that PRP would have won the polls defeating the congress and its president Chiranjeevi become the Chief Minister in the last assembly elections had all the fans of the mega star been endowed with voting rights.

After unveiling the statue of the Nobel Laureate Ravindranath Tagore at the BT College in Madanapalli of Chittor district on the occasion of the birth centenary of the lyricist of national anthem Jana Gana Mana, Kirankumar said most of the Chiru fans didn’t have voting rights during the 2009 elections.

The CM’s statement gains significance as it comes in a programme where the mega star was also present as one of the guests.

Observing that the national anthem of Bangladesh was also penned by Ravindranath Tagore, Kirankumar said the government would take all measures for the development of the college where Tagore had composed music for the national anthem.

“The government has sanctioned Rs.2 Cr for the construction of Tagore auditorium and Rs.1 Cr for the construction of the compound wall,” Kirankumar disclosed.

Appreciating the intellectual abilities of Tagore in his speech earlier, Chiranjeevi called upon the people to work towards realizing the India as dreamt by the Nobel Laureate. (JUBS)
