The special CBI court today dismissed auditor Vijayasai Reddy’s petition seeking permission to use a desktop system or lap top in his cell in the Chanchalguda jail where he has been presently lodged.
The court upheld the CBI objection that an access to computer or laptop would enable Vijayasai reddy to use internet service and manipulate the illegal properties case involving the YSR Congress president Mr YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
Vijayasai is the accused number two in the case while Jagan himself is number one accused. CBI lawyers vehemently opposed the idea of allowing Vijayasai to use computers or laptop in his jail cell as the investigation was reaching a final phase at this juncture.
The CBI told the court it had no objection if Vijayasai was allowed to use a typewriter and given some white papers and pen for use.
Vijayasai told the court that he needed using the computer or lap top as he has been advising several companies owned by Jagan and also his lawyers fighting his case. But the court rejected his arguments. (JUBS)
